Music education promotes learning and stimulates creativity. The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is committed to educational growth, offering a variety of public music education programs.
Our programs include:
- Tulsa Jam'Bassadors
- the Summer Arts string ensemble
- the After School program with the Tulsa Honors Orchestra
- the Tulsa Music Chamber Orchestra
- the Strolling Strings
- the Performing Arts Academy, which hosts music education classes with Deborah Brown Community School students from ages 6-10.
Students in performing arts classes receive vocal training, speech lessons, instrumental training, and lessons in American music history. Youth programs are also a part of our fine arts programming for our Jazz Concert Series; from high school jazz ensembles to performance groups such as Oklahoma Stomp and the Rockin' Acoustic Circus, students can take the stage alongside professional musicians at the Jazz Hall of Fame.
The Jazz Hall's educational offerings also include master classes, seminars, workshops, Summer Fiddle Camp, Oklahoma Jazz Camp, jazz labs at local schools, and the Summer Institute, now in its fifth year.
